ANTI-WRINKLE SOLUTIONS

BOTOX® Cosmetic

Constant use of forehead and eyebrow muscles can cause the development of deep vertical lines between the eyes (glabella) and horizontal frowning lines on the forehead. These lines can lead to a serious, stressed or anxious facial expression, while increasing the signs of aging. Furthermore, frequent use of the muscles around the eyes while smiling can result in the formation of crow’s feet. These wrinkles can be smoothed out or even eliminated with BOTOX injections.

BOTOX is the trade name for botulinum toxin type A, a purified toxin derived from the Clostridium botulinum bacteria. Injecting this toxin into specific muscles prevents the nerve impulse from reaching these tissues, causing the muscles to relax. As the muscles relax, frown lines between the eyebrows and on the forehead are smoothed out, and crow’s feet disappear. The treatment begins to act between 3 to 7 days after the injection, and its results can last for 4 to 6 months.

> Before obtaining a cosmetic treatment, it is important to schedule a consultation during which you can openly discuss your goals and expectations with a physician. The physician will evaluate your treatment options, the required amount of visits, as well as the risks and benefits associated with each procedure. As every individual patient reacts differently to treatments, the information within this site and the client photos are strictly for reference purposes only and in no way constitute a promise of results.

Frequently asked questions

Are Botox® injections dangerous? Since 1979, Botox® has been used successfully in neurology and ophthalmology to treat various medical problems. It has been used in cosmetic dermatology since 1992. When injected properly and in the right dosage, Botox® has very few side effects.

How does Botox® work? A tiny amount of Botox® is injected into the muscle, blocking the nerve impulse from reaching the area, which relaxes the muscle and smoothes out the wrinkle.

Are there any restrictions regarding the use of Botox®? Pregnant and breastfeeding women as well as individuals with neurological problems should not be treated with Botox®.

Is it true that Botox® injections will give your face a frozen expression? Botox® only relaxes the muscle beneath the frown line. The rest of the face is not affected. Using the proper dosage ensures that your facial expression is not altered.

How long do Botox® injections last? The treatment usually lasts 4 to 6 months, after which other injections are required. The effect of Botox® may last longer after several treatments.
