PHOTOREJUVENATION

BROWN SPOTS TREATMENT

IPL – intense pulsed light

Sun exposure leads to premature aging of the skin and is characterized by the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, brown spots, and redness. It also results in dilated pores, as well as dryness and loosening of skin tissues.
Brown spots (lentigines) vary in shape and size and are located in areas most exposed to the sun: face, neck, thorax, forearms, and hands.
Also known as photorejuvenation, the IPL (intense pulsed light) system is a non-invasive technology that erases brown spots and redness, eliminates rough skin, and reduces pore size.

A treatment usually requires 4 to 6 sessions (lasting about 30 minutes each), and leads to excellent long-term results. It is recommended to follow a maintenance treatment once or twice a year.

> Before obtaining a cosmetic treatment, it is important to schedule a consultation during which you can openly discuss your goals and expectations with a physician. The physician will evaluate your treatment options, the required amount of visits, as well as the risks and benefits associated with each procedure.  As every individual patient reacts differently to treatments, the information within this site and the client photos are strictly for reference purposes only and in no way constitute a promise of results.

IPL at Work

Red blemishes from broken blood vessels and brown pigmentation spots caused by sun damage respond to Intense Pulsed Light. The light transforms into heat energy as it reaches collagen on a subcutaneous level.

Frequently asked questions

How does IPL work? The emitted light pulses turn into heat and penetrate the targeted tissues under the skin’s surface. The heat is absorbed by sebaceous glands (pores shrink), by collagen (skin surface becomes smoother), by red blood cells that coagulate (redness disappears), and by melanin, which is fragmented and eliminated through exfoliation (brown spots fade out).

How many IPL sessions are necessary? A treatment generally requires 4 to 6 sessions lasting 30 to 45 minutes each, and produces excellent long-term results. For optimal comfort, we recommend that you arrive 1 hour before your appointment so a topical anaesthetic cream can be applied on the area to be treated.
